What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional form of oriental medicine dating back more than 5000 years. It is a comprehensive treatment, utilizing the body’s own energy called Ki (Qi / Chi). It targets underlying causes & not just the presenting symptoms, to enhance the body’s healing process, speeding up recovery time from injuries & illness. It can be effectively used as a preventative medicine & promotes health & well-being.
At Your Allied Health Centre, we are proud to bring you Traditional Japanese Acupuncture to the Albany Creek area.
How does Acupuncture work?
Ki circulates through a system of Meridians in the body & it is this flow of energy that keeps our body functioning at all times. Whenever there is pain, illness or disease in the body, it is due to a blockage or imbalance in the flow of Ki & the way it relates to our internal organ & muscular-skeletal systems.
By insertion of fine Acupuncture needles to certain points along the Meridians, the flow of Ki throughout the body can be enhanced & normal healthy functioning of the body promoted.
Acupuncture is very effective & ties in with a lot of other therapies such as Chiropractic, Remedial Massage & Physiotherapy, by helping to hold & increase the level of improvement gained from these other forms of treatments.
